3 Jobs That Can Survive The Recession
I have been seeing those hot careers in a recession articles over on MSN and Yahoo. They give a list of hot careers in a recession and then give links to where you can study for those careers. By the time you are finished with the training, the recession will be over and the economy will be fundamentally different than it is today. As I looked at them, I got my own ideas for jobs to get you through the recession and I have compiled a list of them. While these may not be careers in the traditional sense, they will see you through the recession and help you make more money.
1. Flea Market Vendor. Value is a value and these days people are looking for values anywhere they can find it. A great place is at the flea market. Flea marketing is a cheap family activity where you can discover items and products you never though existed. It doesn’t cost much to find some great products and sell them in a flea market. While that’s traditional, you can modernize it by making an entire site with everything you sell on it and giving out the address to any and all potential customers so that your 2 days of work will translate into 7 days of income.
2. Freelance Small Business Bookkeeper. You might already have the skills to keep books, but with a good open source program like Gnucash, you can handle the books of any business with just a little training. Many companies need help keeping their books nowadays and may not be able to pay the expenses of a more well trained accountant. No worries, you can take on this responsibility not just for one company but several. With your laptop, you can go from business to business taking care of their bookkeeping needs. You could even become a notary public and offer even more services.
3. Freelance Marketing Consultant. Every company is looking to increase sales and profits in an economic downturn. The tried and true way to increase sales is to increase marketing efforts. With so much marketing on the internet these days, internet marketing offers the best chances of marketing success. This is why a freelance marketing consultant can visit with companies and give them marketing advice to help them achieve success. A freelance marketing consultant can go to small businesses that have an acute need for their expertise. It’s win-win situation for each party.
These are just three ideas, I hope they are getting your brains working about the massive opportunities available now.
