Bad Steering Memories

I was just reminded the other day about a story from way back in 1994. I was living in Phoenix at the time and decided to head north to my family in Nebraska. I took along my girlfriend/friend at the time, Sonia Winfrey (sp?). Unfortunately, she wasn’t well received by my family at the time and we decided to head back to Phoenix.

We were driving an old clunker car and just outside of some small Oklahoma town, my steering started to go out. We limped our way into the the town and I quickly realized that we needed a steering rack for the car. I didn’t have much money at the time, but with just a little of ingenuity, I got the car up and rolling again.

Ever since, the steering rack and its condition is something I always check on before making a long trip.
