I am compiling Christmas lists right now. I am almost feel like Santa deciding what gifts to get people, but unlike Santa, I can’t withhold a gift just because they’ve been naughty. So naughty or nice, I am busy trying to come up with a list of gifts that will make people happy, like getting a PSP for my sons, Decaslim for my sister, or a new watch for my wife.

I guess this is the power of the holidays and the power of holiday shopping. I will spend days and days trying to find the best gifts at the best prices. Let the fun begin.

New Style Personalized Books

One result of the boom in information technology is the growth of personalized gifts. I remember when I was a little kid, my mom bought me a personalized book based on my name. The story was nice, but it wasn’t very personalized. That was then.

Fast forward to today and personalization is the name of the game. You can put in an order for a personalized gift and it will be personalized straight from the maker. Instead of getting a book that is only as personalized as a name, it’s possible to get children’s book that have photos of your child as well as any name or nicknames you have for him.

It’s amazing. I can only imagine how it would have been when I was a kid to get one of these new personalized books.

Easier Holiday Shopping Contest

Christmas time is fast approaching and you know what that means, right? Yep, that means holiday shopping. That means finding great gifts for those you love and maybe a few people you aren’t too fond of, such as your boss or your inlaws.

Instead of you needing to waste time at the malls, you can shop online and save some time, yippee. Shopping online is fun and it keeps me from going crazy dealing with shoppers down at the mall who really don’t know how to shop. It keeps me out of the parking lots where people don’t seem to know how to drive or park. Yep, online shopping is much easier for me.

Now, it’s gotten even easier. eBillme is running a great holiday contest called Shop and Confess. If you want to learn more about this holiday shopping contest, just check out this video:

Wanna participate? Great, sign up for the contest and remember to use my blog URL as your referral.

I Found My Place For Boots

I love wearing boots. They are comfortable and they just feel a lot more sturdy. They support my ankles and I just feel more productive in a pair of boots. I remember when we lived out in Midland, I’d always buy my boots from Cavender’s. I liked their selection and their prices on boots and western wear. For so long I missed buying my boots at Cavender’s, but then I discovered that they have a website where you can buy the same boots you can buy in their stores. That’s a sweet bonus.

Back On The Homestead

I wonder how long it will be before these latest economic storms are going to cause people to check out a bunch of old Mother Earth News issues and start planning an escape back to the homestead. I’m sure there are people considering it right now. I know I have seen an increase in people looking for property with acreage away from the city now. Other’s are remodeling their homes with the rustic and useful look of the past. It’s no wonder that farmhouse sinks are becoming increasingly popular. You can do a lot with a farmhouse sink, especially if you are into a lot of cooking or canning. Maybe I should get one for my wife?
