Helping You Learn More About Helping Yourself

Moving Here And There

When I was growing up, my family always moved around. My dad’s work was such that frequent moving was a normal part of life in my family. That’s ok, moving services were our best friends. It seems like we knew them on a first name basis.

We would always do out best when were moving and it was always great to see someplace new and experience life in a new location. I guess that wanderlust is still with me today.

Remembering Teaching

I had so many great moments when I was teaching. It was great. I had an awesome opportunity to really reach out to my students and it was something that I’ll never regret. Imagine being able to be an active part of their success. That’s what I was able to achieve when I was teaching.

I remember helping students prepare for projects. I remember helping students get ready for competitions. I remember teaching students their ABC’s for the first time. I have so many great memories of when I was in the classroom. It’s something that I will never, ever forget.

It’s a powerful job being a teacher. You can touch the lives of your students for years to come.

Writing Back

Sometimes instead of fighting back, you need to write back. It’s a way to even things up without resorting to fights and disagreements. It’s particularly important on the internet. It’s easy to get tangled in petty disagreements on blogs, forums, and other message type environments. That’s why I suggest writing back.

What is writing back? It’s a method where you write about what you feel, put it in a personal journal, offline. By putting your feeling down in writing, you will be able to deal with it in your own heart. Once it’s dealt with than you can avoid posting it online and furthering the conflict. You know you wrote your feelings. You don’t need others to see it.

Return To Happiness

Running a site like TEFLWatch meant that I came into contact with a lot of people who were unhappy. They were rightly upset at the way that schools had treated them or how coworkers had stabbed them in the back. They had every right to be very upset at the way things had went down.

The problem was that there were a few who could never return to happiness after being wronged. They were continually upset about life and the wrongs that had transpired. They let other people control their own happiness. That is wrong. As soon as you let other people control whether you are happy or not then you have lost.

Return to happiness by not letting others control your level of happiness.

Making My Life Easier

I am doing a lot of looking into the 4 hour work week. The basic premise is that you work a 4 hour week by outsourcing as many parts of your life as possible. You focus on doing the highly productive things that pay the most and you outsource the tedious tasks.

The goal is to do even more of the highly productive work and reduce the unproductive work to nothing. People doing this have reported a huge jump in income and an equal jump in the enjoyment they are getting out of life. I wonder if it would make my life easier?
