Who is to blame?
Making changes for the better in Thai education is a noble pursuit and I hear time and again, do it for the kids. Heaven forbid you try to bring up what’s in it for me, never mind, it’s for the children. George Carlin once said, “f*ck the kids” when talking about doing it for the “kids.” I will not go quite that far. Education where foreign teachers are involved is business. Parents are the consumers, they pay the tuition fees and have their expectation about the quality of the product(education). Administrators are in the business of providing the product.

Where do you primarily teach?
It is time for another poll, where do you primarily teach? I want to know what kind of teaching you primarily do? Are you into institute work, corporate gigs, university professing, or are you teaching the rugrats at the local school? Let me know by voting in the polls or commenting on this thread. Foreigners get out?
Is Thailand going to kick out those who are not working or married to a Thai woman with a bunch of money in the bank? Frankly I do not know. This is a touchy issue and I can see it cut both ways. I spent 5 years in Thailand and learned that a rumor means nothing until after it happens and has proven to be true. The issue is a possible limitation in the number of consecutive times a person can enter Thailand on a 30 day permit. I am not going to fan the flames here or in the forum. That said, there is an excellent write-up over on The TEFL News Network talking about the issue. Those interested should check out the article over there.
