Earth Hour

A few days ago, we had Earth Hour. Basically, it was an hour without exterior lighting and was followed in many places around the world. I think it was more about awareness than making any serious dent in power consumption.

I think it was best for making it easier to see the stars. Exterior lighting is good for security, but it really makes the sky light even in the night. It makes it too light to see the stars so earth hour was positive for that.

I am all for Earth Hour as a way to reduce power consumption, but I am leery of anything being done to reduce global warming. The touting of greenhouse gases as the cause of global warming is just junk science to me and cheapens effort to reduce energy usage.
