New Changes again?

The new rules for teachers in Thailand sure have people up in arms recently and not without reason. Luckily, TEFL News has a new article on these rules and tries to shed a bit of light on the changes and what they mean for teachers.

4) All information is subject to change. I can’t see how they could possible implement these new changes, most teachers would be let go and it would be nigh impossible to attract qualified(by the new standards) teachers from native English speaking countries.

How true that is. How many qualified teachers in a native English speaking country want to come to Thailand to earn 30,000 baht per month and deal with all the BS found in a typical Thai school? Having highly qualified teachers is a great idea, but this isn’t the way to implement it.

What do you think? Is this a good idea or what?
