Toying With An Idea

I have been toying with the idea of putting together a Latin America teaching forum for quite awhile, but I always end up balking after giving it much thought. It looks like I have decided to push through and this week, I am doing a lot more to get it all a reality. Hopefully by next week at this time, the site will be live and active. Look for a post here and on several other sites once it happens. It could be a huge benefit for all teachers in Latin America as well as for teachers considering making the jump to Latin America.

Easier Holiday Shopping Contest

Christmas time is fast approaching and you know what that means, right? Yep, that means holiday shopping. That means finding great gifts for those you love and maybe a few people you aren’t too fond of, such as your boss or your inlaws.

Instead of you needing to waste time at the malls, you can shop online and save some time, yippee. Shopping online is fun and it keeps me from going crazy dealing with shoppers down at the mall who really don’t know how to shop. It keeps me out of the parking lots where people don’t seem to know how to drive or park. Yep, online shopping is much easier for me.

Now, it’s gotten even easier. eBillme is running a great holiday contest called Shop and Confess. If you want to learn more about this holiday shopping contest, just check out this video:

Wanna participate? Great, sign up for the contest and remember to use my blog URL as your referral.

Bags For Traveling And More

I think it’s kind of interesting the bags that people buy when they start thinking about where to travel and what they will do when they get there. Some people will just go with duffle bags, some will go with hard cover suitcases, still others will choose to go with a designer bag like a Ju Ju Be. While the choices may seem different, they all satisfy needs and that’s all that really matters.

Make Your Own Curriculum

I am preparing up written materials for a TEFL curriculum. Making your own curriculum and going through the process that it entails is a great way to take control of your teaching career. There is nothing more satisfying, except maybe some of those best appetite suppressant products you can buy, than being able to present not only a teaching portfolio, but also a ready made curriculum at a job interview.

Making and designing your own curriculum is a way to understand the learning process and help you deliver a better lesson every time. It’s also a very important thing to have when it comes to being independent. If you can remember many other posts here, I advise you to be independent in your jobs. Remember, just like a good appetite suppressant, a self designed TEFL curriculum will satisfy your hunger.

Dreaming Of A Winter Wonderland

I think I might be a rare TEFLer. I know many TEFL teachers dream of heading abroad to teach English in a tropical climate. I know a significant number of Canadian teachers have set aside their tire chains in exchange for a teaching job in such exotic tropical locations as Thailand and Costa Rica.

I say that I am different because as I look to head abroad teaching again, I am looking for a cold climate. I want to experience the cold weather of winter time. I want to see tire chains on cars and trucks and I want to play with my kids in the snow. It’s not that easy to find this type of TEFL destination so I am heading to you, my loyal readers, for insight.

Can you give some feedback and help me find a cold weather TEFL destination?
