A Look Back At International Travel
I love looking back at vintage travel commercials from time to time. They really hearken back to a different time in travel, to a time when travel was important and international travel had status. Now, anyone can travel internationally and it isn’t really expensive. When you start remembering vintage travel, you start remembering a more glamorous time. Try to enjoy this video.
Backpacking Teachers
I think some of the backpacker teachers have got the right idea about TEFL. Come on, they hit the road traveling, taking in the different sights, sounds and tastes of the places they visit. If they are interested in place then they stay a bit longer and maybe even find a job. Naturally, the easiest job to get is teaching English.
They stay in a location, have fun teaching English, save a little money and they hit the road again. The students benefit from having a teacher who is a worldly traveler and the backpacker benefits with money to travel some more. It’s actually a pretty good lifestyle when you think about it.
Most of these backpacking teachers do not consider themselves to be professional teachers, they are just doing it to experience life. There is nothing wrong with that.
Travel as a Business
As former and current TEFL teachers, many of us have a good knowledge about travel. We have been many places on the globe and know how to find a good deal on travel. I would go so far as to say that we may even be more knowledgeable about actual travel than many travel agents. The travel knowledge we have each gained is enough to fill a travel guidebook.
In an effort to find TEFL alternatives, travel as a business is one area that shouldn’t be overlooked. No longer are you confined to an office if you want to work a tourism or travel related business. Thanks to the internet, you can start your own tourism or travel business right from where you are right now.
How so? It’s real easy to start up a travel blog and then get some good affiliate offers. Before long, you can become an expert on a particular location and reap the rewards that come from giving personal advice with a tilt towards those offers that pay you well.
