Teachers involved with students

What should you do if you discover that a teacher is involved with a student? This is the new poll question and I want to have some feedback on the issue. You don’t have to teach very long to start running into this issue. Normally if all parties involved are locals, I really would suggest that you let them handle it. What happens though when a Western or other foreign teacher is involved? Keep it quiet? Or is there a way to handle it and be pro-teacher at the same time?

Yes you can, when teachers involve themselves with students, I believe that it is an administration issue. The school administration has failed the students. It is the responsiblity of the teacher to notify the administration of the issue, but then let the administration handle it whatever way they desire. They may be quite alright with having a predator on staff or they may choose to sweep it under the rug. Whatever happens, you have done your best as a teacher.

Schools that protect predator teachers have lousy working conditions. If someone feels the need to report a school for this transgression, feel free to do it as long as there is no identifiable information given about the teacher. Remember, this is an administration problem, not a teacher problem.
