Turmoil At Home And Abroad

There is a lot of turmoil both at home and abroad these days. I often look back to my time teaching TEFL and running the bad school watchdog site and fret about what issues may be affecting teachers abroad these days. No doubt, things will trickle down to the lowly teacher and the need for a platform to complain will probably be more than ever. I can imagine there will be teachers left high and dry with no money while stranded in a foreign country.

But, it doesn’t affect me directly. I am back in the states and things like mortgage payments, credit card payments, and employment uncertainty have replaced concerns about high gas prices and spiraling food prices. I just noticed this morning on the tickertape that just about every food commodity was down. I wonder how soon this will be reflected in grocery store prices?

Those who saved in hard assets are going to weather this quite alright, the rest of us? Who knows. Turmoil at home and abroad, it really doesn’t matter where you are.
