Where do you primarily teach?
It is time for another poll, where do you primarily teach? I want to know what kind of teaching you primarily do? Are you into institute work, corporate gigs, university professing, or are you teaching the rugrats at the local school? Let me know by voting in the polls or commenting on this thread. Since it is time for the new poll, it is time to look back at the last poll on teaching qualifications.
In the previous poll we talk about what makes a qualified teacher. The results were pretty interesting. 36% of the respondents thought that having a generic BA and TEFL Certificate made you a qualified teacher, while 24% felt that you needed just a TEFL certificate to be a qualified teacher. Next was several years of TEFL experience with 15%. BA only? That was far down the list at 2%. It seems like the readership of TEFLWatch feels that you do need at least a TEFL Certificate to be qualified to teach and lacking that you need to have several years of experience. I guess this answers the question many ask, do I need a TEFL certificate?
